Biryani

Ingredients
- 4 cups rice
- 1kg frozen vegetables
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1/3 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
Process
- Cook the vegetables in a frying pan (it is okay if they are frozen); add 2 teaspoons of salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper only. When they are fully cooked, they should be soft and easy to eat.
- Wash rice till the water is semi clear, and leave it in water for 15 minutes.
- Add 1L of water in a pot till it boils.
- Add curry, salt and pepper to the vegetables.
- Once water starts boiling, add rice.
- Wait till the water is drained and the rice is ready.
- Once the rice is fully cooked, mix it with the vegetables.
Tips
- Any frozen vegetables available you like is good
- This food is great with:
- Yoghurt
- Stew
- Salad
